LIVE: M62 CLOSED with long delays following crash - latest updates
Drivers are facing long delays on the M62 following a 'multi-vehicle' crash. Officers are heading to the scene of a collision on the westbound carriageway at junction 19, for Heywood and Middleton, this evening (November 14).
The road is currently closed with traffic being diverted away. Three lanes of traffic had initially been closed. Drivers are facing queues of four miles approaching the scene.
A spokesperson for National Highways North West posted on X (formerly Twitter): "Update - The #M62 is now closed within J19 #Heywood #Middleton following a multi vehicle collision. Traffic is being diverted via the exit and entry slip roads.

"There are 4 miles congestion causing 30 min delays above normal travel time." Further details about the nature of the collision are yet to be confirmed.

Lanes 1 and 2 (of 3) are closed on the #M60 clockwise within J11 #Eccles due to a broken down bus.
