LIVE: Snow falls across Greater Manchester with yellow weather warning issued - latest updates

Snow has hit Greater Manchester this afternoon (December 2) as temperatures have stayed low for several days.

Images on social media show that snowfall has come to Leigh, in the borough of Wigan, at around 3:20pm on Saturday afternoon. A yellow weather warning is in place for much of northern England for snow and ice from 6pm tonight up to noon tomorrow.

“Snow and ice this evening and into Sunday morning may lead to some disruption to transport and infrastructure,” said the Met Office.

Now, a clip on X - formerly Twitter - shows snow in Leigh. User Karly posted: "Leigh [in Greater] Manchester has snow."
