LIVE: M56 traffic at standstill as police rush to scene due to incident - updates
All traffic is at a standstill on the M56 this evening with emergency services on the scene following a crash.
Drivers are facing delays on the eastbound carriageway from J7 A556 Chester Road (Bowdon) to J6 A538 Wilmslow Road (Hale Four Seasons Roundabout).
Emergency vehicles are currently racing through standing traffic to get to the scene, according to North West Motorway Police, with all traffic currently held.

There are still delays of 30 minutes against expected traffic on the M56 eastbound, according to National Highways.
Traffic was held for 25 minutes while emergency services dealt with the crash on the M56. Images show large queues still remain, although two lanes have now been reopened.
