LIVE: Manchester Road shut between Didsbury and Cheadle due to 'police incident'
Drivers are being warned of delays this morning after a busy south Manchester road was closed due to a 'police incident'. A half mile stretch of Manchester Road between Parrs Wood, Didsbury and Cheadle is currently blocked.
Bus services are being diverted and there's also congestion as drivers seeking an alternative route try to get onto nearby Kingsway.
Bus company Stagecoach tweeted: "Routes 42B, 42C Due to a Police Incident on the B5095 Manchester Rd at #Parrswood the road is closed, services will divert Via Kingsway and Gatley Rd in both directions until the incident is resolved, please allow extra time for your journey's this morning."

Runners taking part in this morning's Burnage Parkrun are also being advised to allow more time for their journey.
Greater Manchester Police have been contacted for a comment.

We're still waiting for an update on the nature of the police incident, but according traffic monitoring service Inrix Manchester Road remains closed between Monringside Drive and Mill Lane.
Manchester Road remains closed and is continuing to cause a few traffic delays. Stagecoach say the closure is affecting the 42B and 42C bus services.
