Man dies in Morrisons store as air ambulance and police rush to scene

A man died after suffering a 'medical episode' in a Morrisons' supermarket on Saturday afternoon (March 30). Police and paramedics were called to the store on Blackhorse Street, Bolton, at around 12.20pm.

An air ambulance landed in the car park as a number of police vehicles and ambulances attended the scene. A man, aged in his 70s, suffered a medical episode inside the store.

The man, who has not been identified, was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency services. There are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances surrounding his death.

Morrisons have confirmed to the Manchester Evening News that an 'incident' occured within the store and that police and paramedics were called to the scene. The supermarket group declined to comment further.

A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police said: "At around 12.20pm on 30 March 2024, officers were called to reports of a suspected medical episode in a business in Blackhorse Street, Bolton.

"Sadly, a man in his 70s was pronounced dead at the scene. There are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances."
