LIVE: Long delays on motorway after 'car overturns' - latest updates

There are long delays on the M60 this morning (May 3) as an entry slip road has been closed due to an 'overturned vehicle'.

The entry slip road at junction 17 clockwise of the M60 off Bury New Road at Whitefield has been closed due to the accident. This is causing delays back to junction 13 at Worsley.

At least 25 minutes of delays are being reported. Bury New Road is also slow due to the incident.

Traffic account MancTraffic posted: "M60 c/w j17 entry slip CLOSED. Heavy congestion on the c/w from j13-14 with ac/w traffic slow through j18 onto the M62 w/b from j19.

"Extra traffic not able to access the M60 means the A56 Bury New Rd is slow heading s/b from Whitefield into Prestwich."

Traffic website INRIX says: "M60 clockwise entry slip road closed, queueing traffic due to accident at J17 A56 Bury New Road (Prestwich / Whitefield). Congestion to J13 (Worsley). Slow traffic on the anti-clockwise side as onlookers slow to look at the incident. Travel time is around 25 minutes."

The accident on the M60 junction 17 slip road has now been cleared with traffic returning to normal.

INRIX latest update as heavy traffic remains: "M60 clockwise entry slip road closed, heavy traffic due to recovery work and accident at J17 A56 Bury New Road
