LIVE: Huge police scene in east Manchester after reports of crash - latest updates

A major road in east Manchester has been shut following reports of a crash.

A huge scene is currently in place in Alan Turing Way, Openshaw, this evening.

Pictures from show a fire engine and several police vehicles at the scene, near to the junction with Pottery Lane.

The road is shut heading towards Pottery Lane and Longsight, TfGM say.

The incident is causing delays in the surrounding area, according to Transport for Greater Manchester.

Drivers are being advised to avoid the area and find a different route.

Greater Manchester Police has been approached for further information.
