LIVE: Heavy motorway traffic as rain floods carriageways with lanes closed - latest updates
Heavy rain has caused traffic on Greater Manchester's motorways this afternoon, with lanes closed due to flooding.
There is congestion building on the M60, at the slip road onto the M61 due to surface water and one lane closed. There is also congestion on the M60 clockwise between junctions 15 and 11 and off the M62 eastbound at junction 12.
There are also queues on the M60 clockwise at the junction 24 exit and also due to a lane closure anti clockwise between junctions 25 and 24, with slow traffic.

It comes as the region waved goodbye to the glorious temperatures and dry spells, with rain falling over parts of Greater Manchester on Sunday evening and Monday (April 10).
The Met Office has also issued a yellow weather warning for wind on Tuesday (April 11) and Wednesday (April 12), covering western areas of Greater Manchester including Bolton, Trafford and Wigan. The warning stretches across western areas of the UK, from south west Scotland down to the southern coast.
