Teams of firefighters from Greater Manchester were scrambled to Cheshire in the early hours of Sunday to tackle a massive blaze at an industrial estate.

Eight fire engines from stations based in Greater Manchester were sent to the scene in the initial response, together with crews from Cheshire and specialist units. Images from the scene capture huge plumes of smoke visible for miles around rising up into the sky.

Local residents in the Poynton area are being told to keep all their windows and doors closed on Sunday morning as a result.
