Live: Emergency services respond to major incident in Salford - latest updates
The emergency services are responding to a major incident in Salford this afternoon (Friday, October 31). It follows an incident close to Agecroft Road in Salford.
Greater Manchester Police is leading the response to the incident which concerns reports that someone has fallen into the nearby River Irwell.
Reports suggest Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service and North Wes Ambulance Service are also responding to the incident.

A spokesman for North West Ambulance Service (NWAS) has confimed brief details of the incident.
He told the Manchester Evening News that a man has been taken to the hospital after being rescued from the water.
Two ambulances, an air ambulance, an advanced paramedic, a response vehicle, and specialist Hazardous Area Response Team officicers also attended.
An eye-witness has told is a tow-path close to the cemetery has been taped off. An air ambulance has landed nearby and joined police, firefighters and paramedics at the scene.
