LIVE: Emergency services respond as person hit by train with major disruption on line - latest updates
Emergency services are responding after a person was hit by a train between Manchester Oxford Road and Warrington this morning.
Crews are currently on the scene, with all stations between the two major stations currently closed. Trains are currently being cancelled, delayed or diverted.
Major disruption is expected until at least 9am. Operators affected include East Midlands Railway, Northern and TransPennine Express, with passengers urged to check before they travel this morning.

National Rail said: "A person has been hit by a train between Manchester Oxford Road and Warrington Central. Whilst the emergency services carry out their work, all lines between these stations are closed.
"Trains may be cancelled, delayed by up to 60 minutes or diverted until approximately 09:00."
The British Transport Police have been contacted for further information.
