Armed counter terrorism police have carried out a series of dramatic raids across Greater Manchester over the bank holiday weekend.
Three men were arrested after specialist officers descended on East Street in Rochdale, Heathbank Road in Cheadle Hulme, and an undisclosed location in Manchester on Saturday (May 3). Police said the raids were linked to a 'suspected plot to target a specific premises', with two other men were arrested in Swindon and London.
It has now been confirmed that a raid on Inkerman Street in Hyde was not led by counter terrorism police and had no relation to Saturday's arrests.

Four of the suspects arrested on Saturday remain in police custody for questioning after magistrates granted detectives warrants of further detention allowing all four - all Iranian nationals - to be held until May 10.
The fifth man, who police said was arrested 'in the Manchester area', has been released on bail.
