LIVE: All traffic stopped on Greater Manchester motorway after 'multi-vehicle' crash - updates
Drivers are facing long delays on a Greater Manchester motorway this afternoon following a 'multi-vehicle' crash.
All traffic has been stopped on the M6 southbound between J21 A57 Manchester Road (Woolston) to J20 M56 J9 (Lymm Interchange) as emergency services rush to the scene.
Queues are building on the carriageway and surrounding junctions as congestion stretches to past J21 (Croft Interchange), according to Inrix. Motorists are being advised to expect delays of at least 30 minutes.

One lane has been reopened following the collision, but lanes one, two and three (of four) remain closed. Traffic is still very heavy.
There are currently delays of 50 minutes against expected traffic, according to National Highways.
