Lisandro Martinez incident with Jamie Carragher speaks volumes about Man United 'warrior'

Lisandro Martinez and Jamie Carragher appear to have formed an unlikely friendship and were involved in a light-hearted altercation following Manchester United's 1-0 win over Fulham.

The Argentine put in another impressive performance, helping Erik ten Hag's side to a clean sheet. After the game, he was stopped for an interview with Sky Sports.

Martinez hadn't forgotten Carragher's comments where he questioned the defender's 5ft9in height and whether he would succeed in the Premier League due to his physical attributes. At one stage, Carragher ran to the other side of the TV desk and stood side to side with Martinez, as the duo awkwardly compared their heights.

Gary Neville then asked Martinez what he felt following criticism about his height. Martinez said: "You mean from him [Carragher]?", while pointing in the direction of the former Liverpool star.

His response prompted laughter from the Sky's pundits. Carragher, who is 6ft 1in, joked: "He is taller than me!"

Following Martinez moved to United, Carragher branded Martinez as a 'problem' for Ten Hag, saying: "Now, we should never judge managers or players too early, but I'm convinced this can't work because the size of him playing in a back four.

"Maybe he could go left back, maybe he could play in a back three, but in a back four, he cannot play there in the Premier League."

Sky has slashed the price of its Sky Sports, Sky Stream, Sky TV and Netflix bundle in an unbeatable new deal that saves £216 and includes 1,400 live matches across the Premier League, EFL and more.
