Lingard to meet with Rangnick to ‘make final push’ for Newcastle loan

According to reports, Jesse Lingard will meet Man United interim boss Ralf Rangnick on Monday to ‘make one final push’ to join Newcastle United on loan.

The midfielder is keen to leave Man Utd before the transfer window closes. He is yet to start for them in the Premier League this term.

Lingard is out of contract in the summer and he has been heavily linked with a move to Newcastle.

David Ornstein of The Athletic is reporting that Lingard will meet with Rangnick on Monday morning to discuss his exit. He is said to be wanting to ‘make one final push’ to join Newcastle on loan.

Negotiations between the two clubs were halted after Man Utd ‘wanted Lingard’s salary covered, a £2.5 million loan fee and £12 million if Newcastle avoid relegation’.

The report adds that Newcastle are optimistic that a deal could still happen as they believe ‘there may be some flexibility on those numbers’.

Speaking last week, Dimitar Berbatov admitted he hopes Lingard and Donny van de Beek can get a fresh start:
