Liel Abada handed £10m Celtic transfer price tag as Rangers contract gamble with Ryan Kent provides cautionary tale

Kenny Miller reckons Celtic could land a bumper £10million transfer fee if they cash-on Liel Abada - as he compared the situation to Rangers' contract concerns with Ryan Kent.

The 21-year-old hasn't featured for the Hoops for a month after picking up a muscle injury during International duty with Israel, but speculation has ramped up over his long-term future with the club due to the increased battle for a spot in the Celtic starting line-up. The addition of Sead Haksabanovic and the form of Jota and Daizen Maeda has seen Abada's game time limited this term, after a scintillating debut campaign that saw him net 15 goals and claim 11 assists.

The winger has his three-and-a-half years to run on his current deal at Celtic but Miller has warned this could be the right time to sell amid links with Ajax. He admitted he could see similarities between Abada's status at Parkhead and Kent's across the city at Ibrox - with the Rangers star rapidly approaching the end of his contract.

Asked how much Abada could be worth, Miller told The Go Radio Football Show: "I'm not sure, but maybe we are talking £10million for him? If you are talking at those types of numbers - £8million or £10million.

"He is really unfortunate that he has not had much game time behind Jota and Maeda. I think he has been brilliant when he has come on; he has got something different.

"That is what Ange has got in those wide areas, they all bring something different. Jota brings the flare and technique, you have Maeda who is pure power and pace, and you have Haksabanovic who has that wee dip of the shoulder and we have seen his bend on the shot.
