Liam Fox joins Aberdeen as Barry Robson raves about former Dundee United boss

Barry Robson believes Liam Fox’s experience across football can help Aberdeen’s European push.

As Record Sport revealed this week, Fox had been lined up for and has now been added to Robson’s Dons backroom team just weeks after being sacked by Dundee United. Fox was axed following a disastrous 4-0 away defeat to fellow relegation strugglers Ross County.

But the former Hearts coach wasn't out of the game for long and will join Robson and coach Steve Agnew in the Pittodrie dugout as they look to reel in Fox’s former club in the battle for third place in the Premiership. Robson said: “We’re delighted to bring Liam to the club and his arrival further strengthens the coaching team, adding a skillset that will complement the work of Steve Agnew. Liam has worked at U18s and development level, as well as being a first team manager, so his wide-ranging experience fits the profile for this important role at senior level while also supporting the pathway for young players to the first team.

“As we prepare for the challenges which lie ahead for the remainder of the season, Liam’s arrival will help to ensure we have a strong coaching setup in place to help drive performances and results for the club.”
