Leylah Fernandez news: Monterrey Open winner secures partnership with Morgan Stanley

American investment bank, Morgan Stanley, has announced today that they have partnered up with two time Monterrey Open defending champion Leylah Fernandez who is set to support the firm’s initiatives to give back to the community.

Fernandez is clearly still riding the wave of success as she beat Camila Osorio in the final in Monterrey yesterday to retain her title at the Mexican tournament and now she’s a brand ambassador for a leading global firm.

The company has said it’s committed to inspire the next generation whether that’s by developing their life skills through sport or providing scholarships for higher education, which is something the Canadian player is keen to get on board with.

“I am thrilled to join the Morgan Stanley team as an ambassador,” the US Open finalist revealed.

“They have a longstanding commitment to giving back to their communities, which is something I am passionate about.

“I look forward to partnering with the Morgan Stanley team in expanding access to the game of tennis, especially amongst underrepresented communities and diverse youth.”

The Montreal-born player is only 19 years old but she has already achieved so much in her career, including getting to world No 21 which she got to last month, defended her title in Monterrey yesterday to earn her second WTA title and she made it all the way to the final at Flushing Meadows last year before she was defeated by Emma Raducanu.

It certainly appears that 2021 Canadian Press Female Athlete of the Year is following the same path as Raducanu, especially by signing this
