Newcastle and Arsenal are expected to lead the running to sign Marcus Rashford if he pushes to leave Manchester United.

It is understood he has become concerned about how he fits into the club’s plans, particularly after being overlooked in the Manchester derby, and will assess the situation over the summer.

Any decision will be swayed by who comes in as the next boss and with Ralf Rangnick preferring Erik Ten Hag at this stage, there may be further concern about how things pan out.

If Rangnick has not been convinced by Rashford, it could be that the man selected by Rangnick to become the new manager begins with a similar stance.

It is believed there are figures at Arsenal who have had Rashford in mind for a while, if a situation like this ever occurred.
