Brits will be enjoying a bumper bank holiday this weekend to celebrate the Queen's Platinum Jubilee after becoming the first monarch to hit 70 years on the throne.

People across the country will be merrily making the most out of having both Thursday and Friday off this week ahead of the weekend.

As with many royal celebrations, there'll be street parties galore as people flock to mark the Queen's longevity on the throne.

There'll also be a host of different kinds of events happening across Greater Manchester, as venues and communities look to celebrate the occasion in a variety of different ways.

However, not everyone will be inclined to join in with celebrating the monarchy, and may just be taking advantage of the four day weekend to enjoy an extra bit of time with family, or perhaps a few more drinks with friends.
