Leona Maguire stalls but remains in the hunt at the Fir Hills Seri Pak Championship

Leona Maguire's momentum stalled as she fired a one-over par round of 72 to fall back into the pack at the Fir Hills Seri Pak Championship on Saturday.

The Cavan woman will start her final round on five under par, which is four off the leading duo of Jiyai Shin and Alison Lee.

Shin carded the low round of the week to shoot up the leaderboard, with the South Korean stringing together five straight birdies on the front nine and finished her round with birdies on the three of the last four holes. It moved her up from a tie for 33rd at the start of the day to join Lee on 9-under.

"Actually the setting is not for the long golfer, so we need it very consistent," Shin said. "But, you know, this wind (made it) very hard (for) calculating today. That's why I talked a lot with my caddie about the wind direction and the numbers, too."

Lee, meanwhile, carded five birdies and two bogeys on the front nine alone. She would finish with six birdies against three bogeys. Lee is searching for her first win on tour.

"I was in a pretty negative mindset coming into today," she acknowledged.

"I saw the forecast and I saw the wind. I saw how much it's going to be blowing as the day went on. I definitely had a really negative mindset and I said, 'oh, my gosh, I'm going to play terrible. It's so windy, not going to be fun out there'."

Full leaderboard

For Maguire, who started the day two off the lead in a tie for fourth after shooting 65 on Friday, it was a case of recovering after a frustrating front nine which saw her drop shots on the second and the sixth holes.

The 34-year old did enjoy a better back nine, mixing birdies on 10, 15 and 16 with another two bogeys on 13 and 18.
