Ruthless Leona Maguire tees up matchplay final showdown with World No. 1 Nelly Korda
Leona Maguire dispatched Sei-Young Kim to set up a final showdown with World No. 1 Nelly Korda in the T-Mobile World Matchplay in Las Vegas on Sunday.
Maguire, in fine form all week, having topped the three-round strokeplay phase of the competition and qualified for the knockout bracket as top seed, beat Moriya Jutanugarn earlier on Saturday before facing off against the Korean in yesterday's semi.
As in her quarter-final, Maguire started quickly, going 2up thru 3, capitalising on her opponent's opening bogey and then rolling in a birdie on the third.
The Korean pulled one back with a birdie at the fourth but stumbled with bogeys at the seventh and tenth and Maguire, playing steadily around a difficult layout, was now clearly in command.

The final will pit Maguire against the world's form player Korda, incredibly seeking her fourth consecutive LPGA Tour win on the trot.
Korda made light work of Na-Rin An in the other semi-final, cruising to a 4&3 victory.
The final gets underway at 9.55pm Irish time.
"Nelly is the best in the world right now," Maguire said.
"She's on a really hot streak. It's been incredibly impressive what she's been doing in the past few weeks."It's going to be a really tough battle tomorrow," she continued. "I've got abig challenge ahead of me. I'm excited. I mean, that's why you practice.
"You want to play the best players in the world and that's what Nelly is."
