Lennon Miller's 'time will come' with Motherwell star in no hurry to move on amid Celtic and Rangers links

Lee Miller insists his son Lennon is in 'no rush' to leave Motherwell - but admits there will come a time where he will look to pursue a career at the 'highest level'.

The 18-year-old enjoyed a breakthrough year at Fir Park last season, racking up 32 appearances in all competitions as well as making his debut at Under-21 level for Scotland. His eye-catching displays have reportedly caught the eye of both Celtic and Rangers - with the latter believed to have watched him in person during pre-season this summer.

But ex-striker Lee - who played for the likes of Aberdeen, Hearts and Middlesbrough during his playing career - is adamant that the youngster is solely focused on matters in Lanarkshire with Stuart Kettlewell's side for the time being. Speaking to PLZ Soccer, he said: "He’s not interested in going anywhere else right now in terms of he wants to rack up as many games as possible.

"Yeah, that time will probably come, and he wants to play at the highest level, Lennon. But I go through different scenarios with him all the time. ‘Think if this happened, this could happen’ in different situations.

"And he’s got ambition, he’s got massive ambition, he wants to be a Scottish international, play at the highest level. The way he’s going just now he will do that, but there’s no rush for that, and he understands that as well."

Last week, the teenager himself came out to quash any talk of a move elsewhere, saying: "I just want to focus on my time here, hopefully put in many more good performances, and see where that takes me. I don’t really look at it [speculation], to be honest, it’s just background noise, for me.
