Leicester City working on 'concrete' transfer agreement for player struggling with injury
Torino have reportedly asked Leicester City to extend Dennis Praet's loan deal.
The Belgian midfielder enjoyed the first half of this season at the Italian side, where he has been on a season-long loan from City since the summer.
However, Praet broke his metatarsal in February and has been ruled out for several months. The 27-year-old is said to be "struggling" with his recovery, which will see him miss the rest of the season.
Despite the bad news, Gazzetta Dello Sport report that Torino have "asked" Leicester to sanction a second loan deal, something the Italian outlet describe as a "concrete scenario".
It would mean that Praet extends his loan for a second year, with their £15m option to buy deferred until the summer of 2023. Leicester are said to be "sending signals of openness" as far as the rearranged deal goes.
Praet's contract at Leicester is due to expire in the summer of 2024. It looks unlikely he will see that out, particularly if he can replicate the form already shown for Torino when he recovers from his injury.
