Leicester City ran the rule over four uncontracted players when their Under-21s played out a 1-1 draw against local non-league side Barwell on Tuesday evening.

Barwell, who play in the seventh tier of English football, welcomed a young City side to mark the official opening of their new 4G pitch at the UK Flooring Direct Stadium. Leicester sent a strong under-21 side, with Ben Nelson, Sammy Braybrooke and Will Alves the most notable absentees as they are in Evian with the first team.

Chelsea defender Luke Badley-Morgan appears to be on trial with City, with the 18-year-old playing the full 90 minutes in the City backline. The teenager showed his versatility to play as a left-sided centre-back in a three and a four, as well as at left-back.

Leicester City have received a boost in their transfer pursuit to sign AS Monaco midfielder Sofiane Diop.

Diop, 22, was a name linked with a move to the King Power Stadium in June and reports from France have claimed that City have made 'first approaches' to secure their first signing of the summer.
