Leicester City will have forecast Wesley Fofana situation amid 'long chat' with Brendan Rodgers

When Leicester City signed Wesley Fofana two years ago, they had to have had an inkling this would happen.

Back when their bids for Fofana were being rebuffed by Saint-Etienne’s boss at the time, a stubborn-as-ever Claude Puel, the defender was dotting clues around his social media profiles that he was quite keen on leaving the French club and moving to City.

There was a portion of the Saint-Etienne fanbase who thought Fofana was doing it all for a laugh, and that he was aware of rumours linking him away and was choosing to spend his free time teasing City supporters, only to let them down when he stayed put. Brendan Rodgers has made City’s position clear: Fofana is not for sale. But when discussing the centre-back’s future on Monday, he said he’d had “long chats”
