Leicester City recruiting for important job as former Manchester City midfielder linked

Leicester City are seeking a new loans manager as they look to provide their promising talents with the best opportunities to develop in the senior game.

City are looking to make an appointment after the departure of Guy Branston. He had held the role for more than three years before his exit in March, the former centre-back leaving to become a football agent.

The club's recent successes have shown how important a role it is, with Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall the most obvious example. His impact for the club over the past few months is largely because of his exposure to regular first-team football with Blackpool and then Luton.

Leicester City manager Brendan Rodgers has revealed that striker Jamie Vardy was scheduled to rejoin training on Thursday. The striker has been out of the side for several weeks after suffering with a knee problem, which Rodgers now hopes will have been put to bed.

The former England striker finished his last course of injections last Tuesday and posted a video clip of himself sprinting at the training ground on social media platform Instagram on Wednesday.

Speaking after his side's 1-1 draw with Everton, Rodgers gave a promising update on his star striker. "He's looking good," Rodgers said. "He's joining the squad tomorrow (Thursday) for training, which is great news for us.
