Leicester City get double injury boost ahead of Norwich clash

Leicester City full-back James Justin is fit to face Norwich despite dislocating his shoulder less than a week ago.

Justin was involved in a collision five minutes into the defeat at Roma, and while he completed the 90 minutes of the semi-final second leg, it was an injury that stopped him playing in the 2-1 loss to Everton on Sunday. However, he is now back in contention.

James Maddison also comes back into the fold after a hamstring complaint, ready to take on the club he represented before joining City, but Ricardo Pereira joins Wilfred Ndidi and Ryan Bertrand in being out for the season. It’s understood that the Portuguese full-back has a hamstring issue.

City manager Brendan Rodgers said at his press conference on Tuesday afternoon: “The players who were out at the weekend are available, so James will be available. Ricardo Pereira won’t be available. James Justin will be available, so that’s good. We’re not too bad in terms of numbers.”

Jamie Vardy was left out of the starting line-up against Everton after playing his first 90 minutes of 2022 in the defeat in Roma, coming on in the second half against the Toffees. Now, he may be back in consideration for a place in the 11.
