Leicester City eyeing move for Nottingham Forest star

Premier League outfit Leicester City are keeping tabs on Nottingham Forest centre-back Joe Worrall ahead of a potential summer approach, as per a report from The Sun.

The 25-year-old has been one of the Reds’ standout performers again this season, playing an integral part in dragging his side up the table following a poor start to the 2021/22 campaign as they transformed themselves from relegation candidates to promotion contenders.

Appearing yesterday in Forest’s 2-1 first-leg victory over Sheffield United, he is two games away from plying his trade in the top flight next season but could secure himself a move to the top tier regardless of their fortunes in the coming weeks.

The defender has been the subject of interest from other sides including West Ham United in the past with the 25-year-old continuing to impress at the City Ground, retaining his status as one of the first names on the teamsheet with 44 appearances in all competitions this term.

He even scored against the Foxes earlier this calendar year in Brendan Rodgers’ side’s humiliating 4-1 defeat to their local rivals as they exited the FA Cup – but he could be set to make the short journey to the King Power Stadium if the top-tier outfit act on their interest.

According to this same report from The Sun though, he is likely to remain at the City Ground if his side were to be promoted via the play-offs this month, a big boost for Cooper’s side.

The Verdict:
