Leeds United pre-season schedule in full as friendly fixtures finalised

Leeds United have finalised their pre-season schedule by announcing scheduled games against Blackpool and Cagliari either side of their trip to Australia. The Whites will play five friendlies in total as Jesse Marsch prepares his side for the rigours of a Premier League campaign.

A chunk of Marsch’s squad are back in training already and the American is expected to welcome those who represented their countries earlier this month back next week. Fans don’t have to wait too long to see their side in action either, as United travel to York next week to face Championship outfit Blackpool.

Leeds will host the Tangerines at the LNER Community Stadium on Thursday, July 7, and tickets are on sale now, via York’s ticket website. They’ll then board a plane to Australia with Gold Coast being the first stop of their pre-season tour.

The Whites will face Brisbane Roar at the Cbus Super Stadium in Gold Coast before making the short journey to Brisbane to face Aston Villa at the Suncorp Stadium on Sunday, July 17. Marsch’s side will then take another flight to Perth, a city they visited during their last trip to Australia in 2019, to face Patrick Vieira’s Crystal Palace.

United will then return to British soil to step up their preparations with less than two weeks to go until Wolves travel to Elland Road for the opening game of the season. The Whites will face Cagliari, who can also count Massimo Cellino as a former owner, in their only friendly on home soil.
