Former Middlesbrough and Sheffield Wednesday midfielder Robbie Mustoe believes Leeds United star Brenden Aaronson could go on to have a better Premier League career than his fellow countryman Christian Pulisic.
Aaronson continued his impressive start to his Leeds career by scoring his first goal for the Whites in the 3-0 win against Chelsea on Sunday. The 21-year-old's USA team-mate Pulisic came off the bench for Chelsea but failed to make an impact.
"I'm not going to go all the way there, but we know Christian Pulisic is the golden child for American soccer because of what he's done and going to a club like Chelsea," said Mustoe on The 2 Robbies Podcast.
"Aaronson might end up - and this is crazy early - having a better Premier League career than him given his attributes. He's got an unbelievable engine.
"He can run all day long and doesn't look like he's sweating. The quickness, the sharpness, the cleverness that he's got - he's 21! He's going to come on."
Leeds United will be looking to continue their excellent start to the season when they host Barnsley in the Carabao Cup second round this evening. The Whites currently sit third in the Premier League after picking up seven points from their opening three matches.
Jesse Marsch has so far had a settled side to pick up from this season but could make several changes to his squad for the visit of the Tykes. In goal, Kristoffer Klaesson will be pushing for his first senior start since his move last summer.
