Leeds United news as Whites backed to make 'smart' striker signing

A look at this morning's Leeds United headlines on Tuesday, August 23.

Journalist Fabrizio Romano believes Leeds United are still in contact with FC Zurich for Italian striker Wilfried Gnonto. Speaking on Que Golazo YouTube channel, Romano said: “Let’s see what happens with Gnonto because we already mentioned his name for Leeds and they are following him, and they are still in contact with these agents to see if they have the opportunity to bring him to Leeds immediately.

However, many Leeds fans were braced for a different and more determined Chelsea side to emerge in the second half following a half-time Thomas Tuchel scolding. Marsch’s side stood firm, though, and continued to take the game to their visitors, who have expectations of at least qualifying for the Champions
