Leeds: Marsch facing 'horrendous' situation at Elland Road

Leeds are not safe from relegation, according to Daily Star journalist Paul Brown.

Jesse Marsh’s side are unbeaten in five games ahead of their clash with leaders Manchester City this weekend, but they’re just five points above the relegation zone heading into the business end of the campaign.

When Marsch replaced Marcelo Bielsa in February, the Yorkshire giants were two points clear of the bottom three, and while that gap has only increased by a further three points, Leeds have made great strides under the American’s guidance.

They’ve already kept two clean sheets in his time as manager, which is just one fewer than they managed in the first 26 games of the campaign when Bielsa was in charge.

Despite being five points above danger, Leeds’ next three games are against sides currently in the top four, and Brown reckons there’s still work to be done before Marsch’s side can celebrate safety.

He told GIVEMESPORT: “The big ones are the games against the teams around you.

“Watford basically could decide what happens for the rest of this season because they’ve got to play Burnley and Everton at home and Leeds, just above them, aren’t out of it either because their next few fixtures are horrendous.”
