Leeds have 'more of a chance' of signing £26m star at Elland Road

Leeds United probably have ‘more of a chance’ of signing Tyler Adams than Weston McKennie this summer, according to journalist Jacque Talbot.

The west Yorkshire outfit have been one of the most active clubs in the early stages of the transfer window, adding significant reinforcements to Jesse Marsch’s first-team squad.

Marsch has already taken advantage of his links within the game to bring in Brenden Aaronson, Rasmus Kristensen and Marc Roca.

Leeds narrowly avoided relegation from the Premier League on the final day of the campaign after securing a 2-1 victory over Brentford, and they’ve wasted no time in trying to ensure that that scenario doesn’t occur again.

Both Aaronson and Kristensen have arrived from Marsch’s former side Red Bull Salzburg, while Roca has joined from Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich.

And Marsch should also know the Spanish midfielder’s qualities well following his stint in charge of German outfit RB Leipzig last term.

The American tactician has similarly been credited with an interest in two players who he is likely to be familiar with: compatriots Tyler Adams and Weston McKennie.

When asked by GiveMeSport if he could envisage Leeds showing an interest in McKennie, Talbot confirmed he could, but that Adams, who is valued at £26m by CIES, was perhaps a more likely target.

He told GMS: “Yeah, I think so. I think there is the link, this sort of contingent that’s going on between Leeds United, America and the Bundesliga.

“I think there’s Tyler Adams as well. He played under Jesse Marsh last season before he was sacked in November, so that again is that link there. But I think Tyler Adams; probably a bit more of a chance for Leeds.
