Lee Johnson admits Hibs touchline clash against Hearts started by 'my dad's bigger than yours' row with Steven Naismith

Lee Johnson has sidestepped a full-scale rammy slamming after his Hibs side failed to get past a 10-man Hearts team and into a guaranteed European football position.

The game was marred in controversy towards the end as both benches collided in a big stramash that involved managers, players and staff of both clubs. Hearts had the lead at Tynecastle through Yutaro Oda and Alex Cochrane's red card resulted in Kevin Nisbet firing home a free-kick.

But Johnson's men - who needed a win to finish above Hearts in fourth - couldn't find another and the game finished 1-1. Tempers then flared in rowdy post-match scenes and the Easter Road boss - who was sent off - told Sportsound: "It was a very bity again, Hearts had to make it that way after the sending off and equaliser. We let them off the hook a little bit too much, overhit crosses and passes, but we had some good chances. Probably not enough given we had the extra man so that is something we need to look at going into the window.

"I didn't see a lot of it. It started with a conversation and a my dad is bigger than your dad-type chat (with Steven Naismith). But like I said, that stays between me and him.

"It was a big game for both and I will have my way of believing how a a manager should act in the technical area and he will have his. Sometimes managers butt heads, we move on, it's a passionate place.

"The FA will look at I am sure and we will look at it. We just wanted to clap our fans, who have been fantastic all season and we did everything we could to win the game, I didn't see enough of it as it was behind me."
