"Leadership skills similar to Conor Coady" - Journalist raves over exciting Wolves youngster
Wolves midfielder Luke Cundle possesses similar leadership qualities to Conor Coady, according to Midlands journalist Josh Holland.
Cundle has started to break into Wolves’ first-team this season, and he has already made a significant impression at youth team level.
The 20-year-old has racked up 12 appearances in the league for the club’s Under-23s this term, and has chipped in with two goals and two assists.
He received high praise from Under-23s boss James Collins earlier this month, who claimed Cundle’s performance against Newcastle as “Phil Foden-esque“.
He has earned recognition at senior level as he has consistently made Wolves’ squad throughout their campaign.
Cundle has made three top-flight appearances, including two starts for Bruno Lage’s side, and has played twice in cup competitions in 2021/22.

Cundle appears to be one of the brightest prospects coming through Wolves’ academy, and Holland has high hopes for him.
He feels the rising star has similar characteristics to Coady, and can become the team’s captain at some point down the line.
Speaking about Cundle to GIVEMESPORT, Holland said: “I think he’s got a very big future. From his performances in the Under-23s in the Premier League 2, he’s got leadership skills similar to Conor Coady, and I can see him being Wolves captain in years to come.”
This season, Cundle has often been kept out of the team by the Portuguese duo of Ruben Neves and Joao Moutinho.
However, Neves could depart the club this summer, while Moutinho is out of contract in June, and is yet to agree terms on a new deal.
If one or both players move on, this could open up an opportunity for Cundle to get far more
