Law and District AAC win big at Scottish National Indoor Championships

Law and District Amateur Athletic Club stars have been doing themselves and their club proud with superb performances at the Scottish National Indoor Championships recently.

The action at the event in Grangemouth started with Law’s throws squad impressing in the shot put.

Under-15 Roisin McClelland achieved a personal best of 7.96m with a 3kg shot. Next up, U15 Kyle Ferguson had a good set of throws with a best of 7.90m with a 4kg shot.

Following that was U20 Jade Gray, who won gold with a fantastic personal best of 11.59m and new club record with a 4kg shot put.

U20 Ross Ferguson impressed with a personal best throw of 11.12m, achieving the silver medal, with a 6kg shot.

Finally, in the throws Law had three Masters men competing and, after the formulas were run, M45 Andy Dawkins won gold with a fine throw of 12.48m, M45 Graeme Ferguson took silver with 11.48m and M40 Paul Dearie bronze with 11. 88m, all throwing a 7.26kg shot put.

On the track, U17 Owen Murphy won the Championship title in the 60m, with a swift time of 7.12s, equalling his personal best time.

U20 Tiana Greenshields won bronze in the 60m, with Sophie Evans finishing in fourth place and Jade Gray in fifth.

U17 Tehillah Ikechukwo-Okonkwo won silver in the 60m in a time of 7.72s, just outside her personal best.

U20 Hannah Kulke, U17 Lauren McNair, U15 Luke Evans and U13 Chloe Gardiner also took part in the 60m heats at the Championship final, after qualifying at events in Ayr and Aberdeen.

Meanwhile, U15 Cara Murphy was delighted to be invited to compete at the British Senior Indoor Championships in Birmingham in the para 60m.
