Latest: Early Charlton Athletic team news ahead of AFC Wimbledon clash

Charlton Athletic host AFC Wimbledon this afternoon in pursuit of three straight victories under Johnnie Jackson.

Conor Washington’s close range finish and a Clark Robertson own goal proved enough to get past Portsmouth to a 2-1 scoreline on Monday evening to pull the Addicks further clear of the relegation zone.

Mark Robinson’s men are without a win in their last nine third tier outings and sit just two points above the bottom as a result.

There will be a derby feel to proceedings with the Dons enjoying a decent record against the Addicks, since first playing a league game against each other in 2016.

Last season Charlton were 5-2 victors at The Valley and the points were shared with a 2-2 draw at Plough Lane.

Wimbledon did pick up a 1-0 win on their travels in the first round of the League Cup as the Addicks’ terrible early season form persisted under Nigel Adkins.

Here, we have taken a look at the latest team news ahead of what should be a lively encounter…

Charlton have two confirmed absentees, Jake Forster-Caskey has been out since the final knockings of last season having suffered a second anterior cruciate ligament injury.

Jayden Stockley remains sidelined with a hip issue, however he is thought to be close to making a first team return.

Ryan Inniss is fit for selection after coming off against Portsmouth as a precaution due to some hamstring pain.

Sam Lavelle is back in full training after a groin injury he suffered in late October, the 25-year-old could feature in the matchday squad for the first time since Jackson’s first game in charge at Sunderland.

As for Wimbledon, Sam Cosgrove and Nathan Broome will be in the squad and particularly the former will be hoping to earn his first minutes for the club.
