The Premier League's winter break and the FA Cup schedule has given Villa a chance to rest and rest after atough start to the 2021-22 season.

Villa boss Steven Gerrard has also been given a chance to have an extended spell on the Bodymoor Heath training pitches with his players for the first time since he replaced Dean Smith in November.

And there have been games, too, with Brentford beaten 2-1 in a behind-closed-doors friendly at Villa Park on Tuesday thanks to goals from Ollie Watkins and Tyrone Mings.

Villa are back in action, though not officially, when they play Norwegian side Molde at 1pm on Saturday.

Here's the latest injury news ahead of the game...
