Lanarkshire Karate Academy kids' Durham delight, with medals galore
Lanarkshire Karate Academy stars were in outstanding medal-winning form at the North East Open recently.
The Airdrie-based club took a host of youngsters to the event in Durham and they returned with 26 prizes to show for their efforts.
Karate kids from LKA won 15 gold, five silver and six bronze medals at the competition.
And the winners were as follows:
Gold: Kian McGeachy, 10–11yrs male Kumite 4th Kyu and below; Anna Smith, 10-11yrs female Kumite 4th Kyu and below; Sebastian Magilton, 10-11yrs male Kumite 3rd Kyu and above; Emmie McEwan, 12-13yrs female Kumite 3rd Kyu and above; Ziva Alexander, 8-9yrs female Kumite; Keir McGeachy, 8-9yrs male Kumite; Ziva Alexander, 8-9yrs female Kickmaster; Kian McGeachy, 10-11yrs male Kata 4th Kyu and below.
