La Liga club confirms transfer interest in forgotten Manchester United attacker

Real Valladolid head coach Paulo Pezzolano has confirmed they have held internal discussions about the possibility of signing Manchester United winger Facundo Pellistri.

Pellistri is currently at the Copa America with Uruguay and they face Colombia in the semi-finals in the early hours of Thursday morning. The 22-year-old has started each of his nation's opening four games at the tournament, scoring one goal.

He spent the second half of last season on loan in Spain, joining Granada in January, after finding opportunities hard to come by at Old Trafford. He made 15 appearances for the Spanish outfit, scoring twice.

Pellistri joined United from FC Penarol in 2020 and he has made just 24 appearances for the club, struggling to nail down a place in Erik ten Hag's plans. His United contract is scheduled to expire in June 2025, with an option to extend for a further year.

A regular on the international stage with Uruguay, his stock, as a result of head coach Marcelo Bielsa's investment in him, has risen, putting himself in the shop window. As a result, Valladolid, who were promoted to La Liga last term, are interested in securing his signature.
