Kyogo named potential Chelsea strike saviour as Celtic hero is touted by former Stamford Bridge hero
Kyogo has been named as a potential solution to Chelsea's striker problem.
Stamford Bridge owner Todd Boehly has spent massive sums of cash in every transfer window since his takeover from Roman Abramovich, but Mauricio Pochetinno's side have had a stuttering start to the Premier League season. One of the glaring issues has been up front and former Blues man Pat Nevin has urged them to check in on Brendan Rodgers' Celtic talisman.
The Japanese international has scored 58 times in 91 Hoops appearances since arriving from Vissel Kobe in 2021 and the pundit tells OLBG that Chelsea should have a look at him. He said: "Chelsea won't get Callum Wilson or many other proven strikers. I think Kyogo Furuhashi at Celtic would be a good move, too, as he'd finish off a lot of the missed chances. Chelsea will have a lot of options, but they've already signed a huge amount of players. They also have Nkunku to come back and I think Broja will shock everyone. Before his injury, a lot of people thought he was the answer. He's still young, has a great build, and has plenty of potential. Chelsea will know more about those two by January."
Nevin has also weighed in on the Premiership title race. Celtic currently lead the way and despite some early criticism, believes Michael Beale's Rangers will push the current champions all the way.
He said: "I wouldn't say Rangers need a miracle. I was at their first game of the season against Celtic and it finished 1-0. Rangers were unlucky not to get a decision in that game. They've only conceded two goals all season - but both were in 1-0 losses!
