Kylian Mbappe: La Liga report PSG to UEFA as Real Madrid move is rejected
The Kylian Mbappe saga just took its most extraordinary twist yet.
Despite it having looked for the entirety of the 2021/22 campaign that Mbappe would be fulfilling his childhood dream of playing for Real Madrid come the summer, the status quo rapidly changed in recent days.
Amidst bonkers reports that Paris Saint-Germain were offering Mbappe unprecedented wages and privileges, it became increasingly clear that the Frenchman was committing a spectacular U-turn.
It was a development that shocked almost everyone in the footballing world and no doubt will have left Florentino Perez throwing paperwork here, there and everywhere in the Bernabeu’s boardroom.
However, just when it looked as though Real Madrid were going to have to admit defeat and accept that ‘it is what it is’, none other than La Liga came up with a plot twist that nobody saw coming.
As confirmed by Fabrizio Romano on Saturday night, the Spanish top-flight declared that they were going to report PSG to UEFA because of the ‘possible announcement’ that Mbappe would be staying.
Official statement: La Liga announce they have now reported Paris Saint-Germain to UEFA because of Kylian Mbappé deal.
