Kyle Hayes returns to Limerick team to play Dublin
Limerick pair Kyle Hayes and Mike Casey look set for their first taste of inter-county action of season as John Kiely has named his starting team for Saturday's Allianz Hurling League clash with Dublin (throw-in 5pm) at Croke Park.
Neither player has seen any game time in the league, both last appearing for the Treaty men in last year’s All-Ireland final victory over Kilkenny.
Five-time All-Ireland winner Hayes has been named at wing-back.
The 25-year-old was found guilty by a jury in December last of two counts of violent disorder inside and outside a Limerick nightclub October 2019, a charge he denied.
Sentencing was adjourned until 20 March when the four-time All-Star will learn whether he is to serve a custodial sentence.
Casey has been named at full-back in a strong looking side that includes Seamus Flanagan as well as the Morrisey brothers, Tom and Dan, among the substitutes.
Limerick team to play Dublin: Nickie Quaid; Fergal O’Connor, Mike Casey, Barry Nash, Diarmaid Byrnes, David Reidy, Kyle Hayes; Will O’Donoghue, Darragh O’Donovan; Gearoid Hegarty, Cathal O’Neill, Conor Boylan, Donnacha Ó Dálaigh, Shane O’Brien, Adam English.
