Kyle Dempsey injury latest ahead of Bolton Wanderers taking on Accrington Stanley

Bolton Wanderers are expected to be without midfielder Kyle Dempsey for tomorrow's clash against Accrington Stanley.

The midfielder has been out for the past two games owing to a hamstring injury which ensured he had to be taken off during the draw against Portsmouth.

He has subsequently missed the draw versus Sheffield Wednesday and the victory on Good Friday against Doncaster Rovers.

There are only three games left this season for Wanderers as they aim for a top 10 finish.

Time is running out for Dempsey to get back out on the pitch and make further appearances to add to the 10 he has made since his January transfer window deadline day move from Gillingham.

He has been moving closer to a return and is desperate to be back out on the pitch to contribute to a positive end of the season at Wanderers.

But Evatt does not expect to have Dempsey available for tomorrow's clash as he is yet to train and requires a full week before a return can be realistically considered.

And that could mean the trip to Cheltenham Town or the hosting of Fleetwood Town on the final day of the season as the next chance to see Dempsey back in a Bolton shirt.

Asked if Dempsey would be back to face Accrington, Evatt said: "No, I don’t think so. He hasn’t trained.

"He’s desperate to get back, but he’ll need a full week’s training before we think about putting him back in.

“It’s just not worth the risk at the moment.”
