Kris Boyd puts Lawrence Shankland in his own class as Rangers hero adamant Kyogo 'can't finish like that'

Impressed Kris Boyd has saluted Lawrence Shankland as the Scottish Premiership striker without compare after the Hearts hero sunk Hibs with a last-gasp strike at Easter Road.

The 28-year-old Scotland international is adored by the Jambos faithful and only added to his Gorgie lore with another mammoth goal. And Boyd waxed lyrical about Shankland and reckons the man linked with Rangers is already ahead of Celtic's talisman Kyogo when it comes to conjuring up elite finishing in the top flight.

Speaking on Sky Sports, Boyd said: "The goalscorer, or the attacking player, will tell you there is time for one more opportunity, there is time for me to become the match winner. He would have been looking for it, backing in, trying to get it down. The little touch just opens the goal up and doesn't give the keeper any chance. What a finish it is. It's his weaker foot as well. I've spoken about Kyogo in this league, they are different types of strikers but Kyogo couldn't finish like that. His finishing is unbelievable and, for me, he is the best in the league."

Meanwhile, Hearts boss Steven Naismith also paid tribute to his goalscoring hero for his knack for shifting games in Hearts' favour. He said: "The game lacked quality overall, but Lawrence's quality wins us the game. The most pleasing thing is that we found a way. We've done that consistently recently. We've built up our clean sheets, built up our away wins, and those things make a difference. We dug right till the very end.
