'Killing machine' - Diogo Dalot reveals dressing room reaction to Manchester United criticism

Diogo Dalot appeared to describe criticism of Manchester United in the media as part of a 'killing machine' after beating Burnley. United had been defeated by Arsenal, Brighton and Bayern Munich in their three games prior to facing Burnley at Turf Moor on Saturday night and they had conceded 10 goals across that concerning string of losses.

The players have faced criticism as a consequence of those results and they responded with a gutsy performance against Burnley. United won 1-0 against Burnley thanks to Bruno Fernandes' goal on the stroke of half-time and that strike ultimately stopped the rot.

Dalot spoke to MUTV pitchside at Turf Moor after the win and he seemed to suggest the recent criticism of United was part of a 'killing machine', although he made sure to add the 'outside noise' is ignored at Carrington.

"I'm happy with our performance. Collectively we were very good, everybody was speaking with each other, good communication, aggressive and on the front foot, which brings you confidence," Dalot said.

"When you look to your mate and he's giving everything for you, you want to do that as well and we came with that mentality today. This is the standard now for the rest of the games.

"When you play for Manchester United, you have to be consistent in every game and they will kill you in every direction they can if you don't win games and you can see the last few weeks it was a killing machine against us.

"But we fought hard and when we went into Carrington, the noise is outside and we work hard and we were rewarded today."
