Odsonne Edouard loses all 'confidence', major Tierney contract claim addressed and Jota joins a 'good team'

A trio of former Celtic standouts are experiencing fluctuating summers with Odsonne Edouard left bereft of confidence as fed-up Crystal Palace fans turn against him.

His struggles at Selhurst Park have left him toiling and is still earning minutes under Oliver Glasner despite appearing unwanted only months ago. His ongoing plight was picked up by The Athletic after he failed to score in the 2-0 defeat to West Ham on Saturday. And now punters want the former Celtic man – who joined for £14m in 2021 – to be shipped out before the window closes. Edouard has managed a meagre 21 goals in 103 appearances with several goal scoring droughts.

Meanwhile, Jota is on the way out of Al-Ittihad with his move to Rennes nearing completion – according to Laurent Blanc. Speaking after the dramatic 1-0 win over Al Kholood, the former France national team boss said: "Jota is no longer training with the group. We are looking for a good team for him as a suitable solution. He is talking to another club." Record Sport understands a return to Parkhead was never an option for the beloved winger who left Glasgow in a £25million deal 12 months ago.

Rumours circulated over the weekend that Kieran Tierney may become a free agent, however, Arsenal are understood to be listening to offers for a player who still has two years remaining on his £110,000-per-week contract at the Emirates.

And Turkey is often the source of redemption for players seeking a fresh opportunity with Galatasaray now linked with a stunning move for the injured Scotland international. Tierney has long been linked with a return to Celtic, however, that door appears to be closing with Alex Valle on his way in from Barcelona.
