Kieran Tierney 'frustrated' at Arsenal as Celtic on payday alert amid 3 Premier League club transfer race

Former Arsenal star Alan Smith reckons Kieran Tierney will be "frustrated" amid his lack of minutes and could look for a move this summer amid Newcastle United's reported interest.

The Scotland defender has been on the fringes of the Gunners' squad this term after falling behind Oleksandr Zinchenko in the Emirates pecking order. Boss Mikel Arteta has stated he held clear the air talks with the former Celtic defender but shows no sign of losing faith in the Ukrainian for the English Premier League title run-in with Manchester City piling the pressure on the league leaders.

The 25-year-old has been heavily tipped by reports south of the border with a move to Newcastle, but the Newcastle Chronicle note that Eddie Howe could face competition from Leeds United and Aston Villa in the summer four years on from making the £25million switch from Celtic to North London. Despite drifting from the first-team picture, Tierney would still be expected to command a bumper fee.

The Parkhead side will hope a bidding war is sparked between the English trio with the club entitled to a percentage of the sales fee. Smith reckons the left-back would be keen on. an exit, telling Sky Sports: "You wonder about Kieran Tierney.

"He will be frustrated not to be getting much football. Whether he stays at the club in the summer, we have to wait and see.”
