Kevin De Bruyne reveals how Man City squad are feeling about Premier League run-in

Kevin De Bruyne insists Manchester City understand the consequences of the prospect of losing matches at the business end of the season, as Pep Guardiola's men prepare to take on West Ham United.

City host the Hammers on Wednesday night at the Etihad Stadium. They will be seeking to return to the summit of the Premier League table with victory.

Title rivals Arsenal went back to the top of the standings on Tuesday night with a 3-1 win over Chelsea at the Emirates Stadium. City are two points behind the Gunners as things stand, but have two games in hand over Mikel Arteta's side.

One of those matches is against West Ham and De Bruyne and his teammates know they will be back on top in the Premier League should they pick up three points. With the table as tight as it is and Arsenal responding with a win to City going top of the table over the weekend, the Belgian insists his teammates understand the impact a loss would have on their hopes of retaining the title.

He told in-house media: “I think we enjoy playing these games. I think we also understand the consequences. We have games where we have lost and that is part of football.

“There are also a lot of times where we have won these games. We are also confident that when we play these games, we can win them, knowing how hard it is. I think we should see it as positive pressure and that is it.
